Adobe Photoshop: Creating Frenched Lights on a Vehicle

Tools/Supplies Needed:

• Adobe Photoshop
• computer
• image

Procedure:

• first start by picking a photo you want to tint the lights of the vehicle
• using the marque tool, select a rough outline for lights which you want to tint
• once you have the desired area, go to edit/copy and then edit/paste
• a new layer should automatically appear with the selected area for the lights
• now this step is optional, but does make the process a little easier and less confusing
• label the lower layer as "base" and the above layer as "tail lights"
• make the "base" layer invisible, then selected the "polygonal lasso" tool
• make sure you have the "lights" layer selected, using the "polygonal lasso" tool to select the non glass area and delete
• turn on the base layer to visible
• now double click on the "lights" layer or left click and select "blending style" on the pop up menu
• go to color "color overlay", make sure the box is checked, and select a shade of yellow for tinting
• select blend mode to color burn
• once you are satisfied with your image, you are ready save and you're done
